Anthony Cavaiola

Anthony Cavaiola
 
Anthony Cavaiola is a drama teacher on a one-year exchange program to Australia. He teaches here in Newcastle, and has joined the music community to experience what it is like to live in an Australian town. He graduated from Windsor University, Ontario in 2000, with an honours degree in Drama in Education, with vocal music and drama as major subjects.
Anthony has been actively involved in Choral groups for many years and in many genres, such as Jazz, Gospel and Sacred music. He has sung as soloist in The Messiah and Mozart’s Requiem Mass as well as with a Jazz band. He has performed roles in music pieces as diverse as The Gondoliers, Prokofiev’s L’amour des Trois Oranges, Verdi’s I Vespri Siciliani, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat, Bye Bye Birdie , Sondheim’s Into the Woods and Rimsky-Korsakov’s The Tsar’s Bride. His directing experience is also wide, and he has to his credit productions of many comedies, such as You Could Die Laughing, The Odd Couple, and Little Shop of Horrors.
