David Woodward

David Woodward
 
Born in Sydney, David Woodward completed a Bachelor of Teaching and Bachelor of Music from the University of Newcastle before moving to Perth in 2008, where he then completed a Graduate Diploma in Music at the WA Academy of Performing Arts. He has sung the roles of Giles Corey in the Australian premiere of Robert Wards’s opera The Crucible, and le Chevalier in Poulenc’s opera Dialogues of the Carmelites. In 2010, David performed as tenor soloist with the UWA Choral Society in Bach’s Magnificat, and Handel’s Ode on St Cecilia’s Day. Other roles include Acis in Acis and Galatea with Opera Baroque and Tamino in Perth Lyric Opera’s production of Die Zauberflöte. In February 2011, David will made his role debut with the West Australian Opera as Alfredo in Die Fledermaus for City of Perth’s Opera in the Park. He is currently contracted with Opera Australia.
