Peter Willis

Peter Willis
Peter Willis - handsome, intelligent, Tony Award Winner and Pulizer Prize nominee. None of these things can be associated with Peter Willis. Peter made his stage debut in 2005 when he appeared as the Baker in Into the Woods at ‘Graceland University’ (Lamoni, USA). Peter moved to Newcastle in 2007 to commence his Bachelor of Music degree at the Newcastle Conservatorium of Music, where majored in voice under Chris Allan. He has appeared in The Merry Widow and The Magic Flute (with Newcastle Festival Opera); and as the Tenor Stormtrooper singing “Springtime for Hitler” in The Producers (Metropolitan Players). In 2009 Peter played the role of the Duke in Chris Maxfield’s reworking of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Patience or Hot Chocolate (with Newcastle Gilbert and Sullivan Players) and recently appeared as the smuggler Le Remendado in Opera Hunters production of Carmen. Later this year Peter will be performing the role of the Defendant in G&S’s Trial By Jury and also a new work titled Mermaids of Mull created by Nick Higginbotham and Gareth Hudson (with Newcastle G&S). Recently Peter joined a support group to combat his unhealthy (bordering stalker) obsession with Peruvian Tenor Juan Diego Floréz. That’s a joke! But it really happened…
